Short version: your documents are converted by your own browser and are never sent to us. We have no accounts, no cookies, and no way to read what you convert.
When you convert a PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint file, the conversion runs entirely inside your browser using open-source libraries that are downloaded to your device. The file is read from your disk into your browser's memory and never leaves it.
The same is true for scanned documents and images. The text recognition runs locally, and the language models it needs are served from this site rather than from a third-party network, so using it does not reveal your activity to anyone else.
We do not receive, store, transmit, or process your documents. There is no upload step to disable and no retention period to describe, because no copy of your file ever reaches a server we control.
If analytics are enabled on this deployment, we record anonymous events describing how the tool is used — for example that a PDF was converted, roughly how large it was in broad bands, whether it succeeded, and whether the result was copied or downloaded.
These events are constrained by design:
This site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like essentially every web server, that provider receives the network requests needed to deliver the page, which include your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and which files you loaded. We do not use that data to build a profile of you, but we would be misleading you if we claimed it did not exist.
The converter makes no requests to third-party services while it runs. There are no advertising networks, no embedded fonts loaded from other domains, and no session-recording tools. If analytics are enabled, the analytics provider is the only other party that receives anything, and it receives only the anonymous events described above.
There is one embed on the site: the Ko-fi donation widget at the bottom of the page. It is not loaded unless you click to open it — until then nothing is requested from Ko-fi and they are not aware of your visit. If you do open it, you are interacting with Ko-fi and their own privacy terms apply to that.
If you switch the site to Spanish, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the page opens in the same language next time. It is a preference, not an identifier: it is never sent anywhere, and it says nothing about who you are. Clearing your browser data removes it.
If you use Feedback & Support, we receive what you write, plus your browser, operating system, device type, the page you were on, your interface language, the app version and — if you had just converted something — the type of file, such as PDF, and any error code. That is the entire list.
Your document is not part of it. The form never sends the file, its name, its size or the Markdown that came out of it, and the server that receives the form discards anything outside the list above even if it were sent. Nothing is submitted until you press Send.
The email address is optional and exists only so we can reply. Leave it blank and we have no way to identify you. Messages are delivered to a mailbox we read and are not added to any marketing list.
This is a general-purpose document tool and is not directed at children. The only personal information we ever hold is an email address someone chooses to type into the feedback form, and we do not knowingly solicit that from children.
